Market price in a competitive market?

Marginal cost is the additional cost of selling and producing another unit. Suppose that the first unit of output costs $1 to produce and sell, the second costs $2, the third costs $3, and so forth. ume further that each of these units sells for $3.01. This implies that producing and selling three units maximizes profit.
