How has the Immigrant Experience In the U.S.?

From 1900 to 1920, eighty-six percent of immigrants hailed from Europe, with ten percent from Latin America and only four percent from Asia, according to U.S Immigration and Naturalization Service, Fiscal Year 2000 Statistical Yearbook. Fast forward to years 1980- 2000, and the percentage distribution is drastically different. ‘’ Fifty percent are from Latin America, thirty-four percent are coming from Asia and only thirteen percent from Europe ‘’ (U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, Fiscal Year 2000 Statistical Yearbook).
