Do animals suffer to make gelatin?

Yes and no. Gelatin is made from boiling animal bones/skin/hooves. Therefore, it's a by-product of the slaughterhouse, so the animals were already dead. But eating foods with gelatin is still supporting slaughterhouses, since that's where the gelatin ultimately comes from.
